CONSULTANT Alan Savage says there has been international interest into investing into Inverness Caledonian Thistle as the club continues its fight to avoid administration.

The club have taken enquiries from interested parties in Denmark, United Arab Emirates and the United States about potentially investing money into the club as it looks to avoid insolvency.

Board members and club officials are meeting with fans and shareholders tonight in an open meeting held at the Caledonian Stadium to discuss the perilous situation the League One outfit is facing.

Caley Thistle are looking to raise £200,000 by Wednesday, October 16 to avoid administration and require at least £1.4 to £1.6 million to last until the end of the season.

Speaking before the meeting on Monday night, Savage says there has been international interest.

However, they are wanting more information about how the financial situation is at the club before deciding if they wish to pursue their interest further.

Savage said: “We have been fielding calls from America, Dubai and I spoke to a Dutch guy over the weekend who says he has Danish colleagues who are interested in investing.

“But they want to know how the club sits and people don’t want to put money into something that is just going to go down.”

It was confirmed last week that Panos Thomas had resigned as interim chairman with Scott Young taking over the position.

Young and Savage are expected to address the open meeting at the Caledonian Stadium tonight to meet with fans and shareholders.

Savage said the meeting was one of the biggest nights in the club’s history and said while the club are facing a tough situation, is confident that the club will have a future.

He said: “I think that the club will be OK in that respect. It is one of the biggest nights in the club’s history off the park. We have had some great nights on the park, but this is the biggest off the park and we are giving it our best shot to steady the ship.

“The key is we can’t look back, the only solution is looking forward. That is what the meeting wants to be about. It is no good hanging this board, as they weren’t the people who have had any part in what has happened.

“They are good people in their own right, I want to move forward and help fix this club.”

As of Monday afternoon, Inverness Caledonian Thistle had raised over £66,000 as it looked to reach its £200,000 target.

Savage says it has been an incredible response so far and the club is appreciative of the support that it has received.

He said: “I am very pleased and we will look to break it down and see where it is coming from. It shows there is a good strong fanbase if we start telling the truth.”
