Club champions prove fit for Kings at Inverness golf course

KINGS Golf Club crowned its first club champions at its new course in Inverness.

The golf course, which is the new home of Torvean Golf Club, saw five champions crowned as it took over hosting the competition for the first time.

David Sanderson was crowned men’s scratch champion when he defeated last year’s champion at Torvean John Mitchell at the 13th hole 7 and 5.

The Ladies Scratch Final was won by Mhairi Johnston who defeated Karen Bissell 4 and 3.

The Men’s Handicap Championship final was won by Jamie Penwright who defeated David Chisholm on the 16th hole to take the trophy 4 and 2.

The Ladies Handicap Championship saw Linda Gillies defeat Laura Stewart 4 and 3 while in the Seniors Championship Sandy Macleod defeated Cammy Ross on the 17th hole to win 2 and 1.
