The winger is likely to miss Saturday’s Highland League clash against Huntly in Merkinch after suffering a calf injury in the 2-1 Scottish Cup victory against Kilwinning Rangers last month.

But Macphee (27) does not expect to be out of action for too long and hopes to be available to play in the cup final at Station Park in Nairn on Saturday, October 18.

However, he does not expect to be fit enough for the league clash against Huntly at Grant Street Park on Saturday.

He said: “I was feeling good this season and then in the Scottish Cup match I got injured at half time.

“It has been lucky with the fixtures that we had last week off. I have taken some rest and minimal training and I am hopeful that I will be back for the cup final.

“This weekend I will likely be out as I want to try and get back for the cup final because of how important it is for the club. I will see what the physio says this week, but I am really hoping to be back for the cup final.

“The calf injury is only a niggle, but last season I had the same kind of injury and I came back too early and I was out for four games. I don’t wan’t the same thing to happen.”

Macphee knows how important the North of Scotland Cup final next Saturday means to the club and is determined to be part of the big day.

He said: “It means a lot to everyone, especially if we manage to go and win it. It would mean a lot to Clachnacuddin and their fans and its community.

“If I am not in the squad I will be at Nairn cheering on with the rest of the fans.”

Clachnacuddin have had an impressive season in the Highland League having only lost once and are only four points off top spot in fifth place.

MacPhee says Clach have a good depth of talent within their squad this season and that is showing with results on the pitch.

“We have taken things that we built on last season. I think that we have a better overall squad and have more players who can come in when others are injured.

“It is great to have a big squad of players who are capable of starting games.

“We have been competing with the teams that are top of the league as well as taken care of the other teams at the moment.

“It has been an exciting start to the whole league as there have been some results that have gone ways people didn’t think they would.

“It has been tight with only four points between the top five. Our management team has helped our home ground become a fortress and that has shone through in the defence. We have James Anderson and Troy Cooper banging in the goals and at the back we are solid. All round, defence and attack, it is going well this season.”
