Leaders Clachnacuddin knew they were only one victory away from the title after heading into this week’s penultimate round of matches with a four-point advantage at the top.

As it turned out, though, their result did not matter as closest challengers Highland Hospice lost to Ferrybache.

Clach still held up their end of the bargain though, seeing off Fortrose and Rosemarkie Union 5–0 with Thomas Lewis, Sean Reid-Nicol, Cammy Neville, Ross Gordon and Kieran Syrjanen all getting on the scoresheet.

Hospice, meanwhile, lost 5–2 to Ferrybache.

Glen Donoghue scored a hat trick for the victors, with Christopher Dickson and Justin Rogers also chipping in.

Tomatin United overcame Highland Athletic 4–2 and Gellions beat Ness City 3–2.

G16 United’s miserable campaign, meanwhile, continued as they lost 4–0 to Ness Thistle.

In the other IDFA divisions, one point separates the title contenders going into the last week of the season.

Maryburgh have their fate in their own hands at the top of the Premier Division.

They sit slightly ahead of Loch Ness after beating IRN Security 3–0.

It is now a two-horse race, with Loch Ness defeating third-placed Avoch 5–2 this week to boost their goal difference further past Maryburgh’s.

Avoch still have to play the Association Cup final against Black Rock Rovers, who beat Culloden Blacksmiths 4–1, while Tomatin lost 3–2 to Ardersier.

In Division One, former leaders NMM Sams saw their match against Conon Bridge abandoned after a serious head injury that required hospital treatment.

The outcome of that match is subject to agreement between the clubs, which has allowed Inverness Athletic to move into top spot for the time being at least with a 6–0 win over Hill Rovers.

Invergordon Social Club also completed a remarkable comeback from three down to beat Black Isle United 4–3.
