CLACHNACUDDIN are set to sign Inverness Athletic goalkeeper Ryan Hunter on a permanent deal this week.

Manager Sandy McLeod says Hunter will be the first of he hopes at least three signings he plans to make to help bolster their squad after their 4–1 defeat at Inverurie Locos on Saturday.

Hunter played as a trialist and impressed in Clachnacuddin’s 2–1 defeat against league leaders Brora Rangers in Merkinch last week.

McLeod says Hunter is keen to join the club and will sign within the next few days.

“Ryan Hunter is going to come in and I am delighted about that.

“He’s a confident boy and did well against Brora Rangers and that will help us.

“Dougie Maclennan is still injured and it will create competition for Jake Williamson.”

But the goalkeeping department is not the only area McLeod is looking to strengthen in his squad.

“There are a few areas we need to strengthen and that also includes up front.

“We are looking to get a couple boys in this week. We are looking to get one player on loan to help bolster the squad. We need experience up front to give us a shot of confidence.”

Clachnacuddin were only 1–0 behind at half-time at Inverurie through a Greg Mitchell goal.

But they collapsed in the second half as Inverurie went 4–0 up through Jonny Smith, Ryan Stott and Calum Dingwall.

Martin Callum scored a late consolation for Clachnacuddin but McLeod admitted the scoreline didn’t flatter Inverurie.

“We told them to keep tight but we went to sleep and lost two goals in two minutes and that was disappointing as there was no coming back from that.

“We know where we are at, we can’t go toe-to-toe with these teams and hit them on the break. We played well in the first half but when you’re under the cosh you will lose goals. We can’t keep defending like that.
