Clachnacuddin could still bring in new signings to improve Highland League form

MANAGER Sandy McLeod has not ruled out bringing in more players to Clachnacuddin in a bid to improve their form in the Highland League.

The Lilywhites suffered their 12th defeat of the season with a 3–0 loss at Forres Mechanics on Wednesday night.

New signings, strikers John Cameron and Scott Graham along with goalkeeper Ryan Hunter all started at Mosset Park.

Speaking after the game, McLeod said there still might be a couple more signings to come to Grant Street Park.

“We are always looking to add to the squad and maybe we will find one or two more.

“But it all depends on who is available.”

Despite the defeat to Forres, McLeod was pleased with how his three new signings performed.

“They did well, Scott is a quality player and John did well although he was surprised to play on the wing.

“Ryan did well and you can’t fault him for the goals that we conceded. They will help our team get stronger but John and Scott need games as they haven’t played for a while.

“Hopefully over the next few weeks we will steady the ship as it is frustrating to watch.”

McLeod believed Clachnacuddin were the architects of their own downfall saying each of the goals they conceded at Forres were preventable.

“We caused our own problems,” he said.

“We are gifting them goals and it is the same old same old.

“You can’t account for individual errors.”

He added: “I wouldn’t mind if they tear us apart and scored good goals but that hasn’t been the case.

“We had a lot of the ball but have given away soft goals.”

Clach look to win their second league match when they host Strathspey tomorrow.

Amazingly it will be the fourth time they have played each other since July.

The last time they met Strathspey won 4–1 in the Highland League Cup.

McLeod is looking for his players to be better and get confidence rising.

He said: “We need to get our heads up, we did not perform against Strathspey last time so we have to turn up.

“It is a home game and we will look to do ourselves justice.”

Striker Alan Kerr is set to return to the squad tomorrow.
