MANAGER Jordan Macdonald says he was disappointed with the manner of the goals Clachnacuddin conceded in their 4–0 defeat to Brora Rangers at Grant Street Park on Saturday.

The Cattachs cruised to victory at Merkinch with Jordan Macrae scoring twice after Andrew Macrae opened the scoring.

Josh Meekings then scored the fourth to make it a comfortable afternoon for the Sutherland outfit who went to the top of the table.

Macdonald says he accepted the scoreline, but was not pleased with how Brora Rangers managed to find the net.

“The score is what it is, there is nothing that we can do about that,” he said.

“But we are disappointed with the manner of the goals that we gave away, that was more disappointing than anything else for us on Saturday.

“But Brora Rangers can do that to teams, and we have to start preparing for Keith on Saturday.”

Last season, Macdonald rated Brora Rangers as the best team Clachnacuddin faced in the Highland League.

He also believes based on Saturday’s form they can be a force in the division once again.

“Last season, I said they are a good footballing team, and nothing has changed.

“They play football in a certain way and that is the way that I like to play my team to play.

“But Brora Rangers were better than us on the day and started the game brightly, where they should have been ahead in the first minute.

“We settled down and for a period of 20 minutes, we were the better team.

“However, you can’t give the chances we gave away which Brora scored from.

“The players they have such as Andrew Macrae, Jordan Macrae and Tony Dingwall will punish you.

“You can’t give those guys chances like we gave them on Saturday.”
But Macdonald says there were positives to take away.

“Our ball retention and movement was really good at times.

“It is probably some of the best stuff that we have played this season. But we were beat 4–0 by a team who were ruthless.”
