Clachnacuddin appoint Ross County coach as new manager

Clachnacuddin have appointed Ross County youth coach Sandy McLeod as their new manager.

McLeod, who captained the Lilywhites to Highland League and cup success in 2003-04 has agreed to take the role and will start work with the club on Monday.

He joins the Merkinch club after working as a coach in the Ross County youth set up.

Speaking about McLeod's appointment Clachnacuddin chairman Alex Chisholm said his background in coaching and developing young talent impressed club officials to offer him the job.

"Our club places an emphasis on giving youth a chance at first team level.

"With Sandy's work at Ross County, we felt that he was the perfect fit to become manager at our club.

"We had a number of applications for the position and we believe Sandy was the right choice to become manager."

Caretaker manager Sean Webb will remain in charge for tomorrow's Highland League match against Deveronvale at Grant Street Park.

McLeod's first game as Clachnacuddin boss will be against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the North of Scotland Cup semi final at the Caledonian Stadium on Wednesday night.
