Champion doubtful to defend Four Day Open title

INVERNESS Four Day Open champion David Joel says he is unlikely to defend his title next week.

The 39-year-old says he is doubtful to take to the fairways at Culcabock due to work commitments.

Joel won the Rosswood Trophy for the first time last year at the final hole of the competition.

While not ruling out a defence entirely, Joel says his appearance at the tournament is looking slim.
