Head coach Carson happy with first half of Highland's National One campaign

Highland head coach Dave Carson is happy with how the National One season has gone so far – but warned his players that could all change before the end of the season.

After earning a spot in the division as National Two runners-up last season, the Greens sit third in the league, in strong contention for another promotion alongside Biggar, Heriot’s Blues and Melrose.

Last week’s win away at Stirling marked the end of the first round of fixtures.

Highland have won eight of their 11 matches so far.

“That’s us halfway through the league now, we’ve played everyone once and we’re sitting in a pretty good place to be honest,” Carson said.

“Coming up, you just make sure you’re not going to go straight back down again. We’re well ahead of that, and sitting in third place is really good."
