It was the side’s first game of pre-season to build up to the 2021/22 campaign after seven months without a match, having seen last season ruled null and void.

Caley Thistle had started well before action ground to a halt, and had been targeting the Championship North title.

Such a dominant display on home turf last Sunday will certainly have them talked about as title contenders again, and Brady thinks it has set the benchmark for the months to come.

“The standard we played was incredible,” Brady explained.

“I think how we played on Sunday is exactly how we’re going to play for the rest of the league.

“It sets us up for the next match, and it shows all the other teams in the league what we’re made of this season.

“We’ve got a few youngsters that have really shown their potential today, so I’m looking forward to moving on up.

“It definitely sends a message.

“It was a total team performance, everyone has worked very hard to get to this point so we deserve it.”

Brady found the net against Stonehaven, but the stars of the show were Kayleigh Mackenzie and Lorna MacRae with a hat trick each.

Hannah Gordon scored twice – the second of which was a spectacular strike from distance – while Natalie Bodiam also got in on the action towards the end.

In fact, MacRae’s third goal came with the last kick of the match, showing that the fitness work ICT have put in has been worth it.

“It has been a long time since we last played,” Brady added.

“We’ve just been training to a really high standard. Karen has put us through our paces, so that’s why we managed to put in the performance we did. It was a bit tiring over the 90 minutes, but it was a good start.”
