Inverness Caledonian Thistle have had 14 different goalscorers this season - Can you name them all?
HEAD coach Scott Kellacher says having goalscorers all over the pitch is playing a vital part in the club’s good start to the campaign.
Inverness have had 14 different goalscorers across all competitions this season and have wracked up a total of 62 goals in 23 games.
The competitions include 20 goals each in League One and KDM Evolution Trophy along with nine in the League Cup and 13 in the North of Scotland Cup.
It has led to Inverness being in second place in League One, only one point off Stenhousemuir at the top along with qualification as a seeded team into the second round of the KDM Evolution Trophy.
Billy Mckay is currently top goalscorer with seven goals, with Alfie Bavidge, Luis Longstaff and Chanka Zimba all on six.
Now, Inverness will look to give themselves a chance of going top of League One on Saturday afternoon when they face Montrose at the Sarens PSG Stadium.
Kellacher says he is pleased with the return he has received in front of goal, but also thinks they could have had even more with the chances they have created.
“We have had 14 goalscorers and it is pleasing as that is what we want.
“It is important to have goals in the team whether we have the back four scoring, the middle of the park or up front.
We are always looking for improvement, a lot of the games we had up to 30 attempts at goal and we know that has to better.
“If we take our chances, life could be a lot easier for ourselves in terms of leaving us open a wee bit.
“That has been the frustrating part about the Kelty game where we were two goals down and when we got two goals back, I hoped that we would get a winner. Unfortunately we didn’t. We will keep going and take as many chances as we can and be good in both boxes.”
Inverness are set to take on a Montrose team not in the best of form having lost their last three matches and conceded 10 goals as they are in eight place. Despite their poor form in League One, Kellacher believes Montrose will head north with nothing to lose and will be wary of their approach tomorrow.
He said: “When a team is not on the best of form they will come up with nothing to lose, that is when a team is at its most dangerous.
“When they are trying to get a result, we will need to be at our best like we are every week.
“All it takes is them coming up here getting something and get a result.”
