Inverness Caledonian Thistle Women must beat Dunfermline Athletic to keep their hopes of finishing second in SWF Division One alive.

Currently lying in fifth place on 40 points, ICT are only four points behind second place Buchan.

But they have a game in hand on the Aberdeenshire outfit who they meet in Maud in the final game of the season next weekend.

Inverness have a vastly superior goal difference to Buchan.

But with Dunfermline in fourth one point ahead and a game in hand on ICT, along with Cove Rangers two points ahead in third place, Mason says three points at Inverness Royal Academy against Dunfermline on Sunday is a must.

“We know what we have to do in our final game after facing Dunfermline,” she said.

“Champions Aberdeen play Dunfermline and hopefully they can do us a favour.

“If they do that then hopefully second place in the division should be ours.

“I think if we win on Sunday, the chances of making second place will be in our own hands.

“It is important so we can set up our own cup final for second against Buchan on the final day.”

Last weekend, ICT got revenge on Deveronvale for their defeat earlier this season with a 12–1 win last weekend.

Leanne Calder and Mary Macleod both scored hat tricks with Kayleigh Mackenzie enjoying a double.

Katie Cleland, Natalie Bodiam, Megan McCarthy and an own goal brought their total amount of goals scored this season to 96.

Earlier in the campaign, Inverness suffered a shock 3–1 defeat to Deveronvale and Mason admitted her players were eager for payback.

“It was the best that we have played this season,” she said.

“We were well aware before they beat us earlier this season in what was one of our worst performances.

“Revenge was definitely taken.”
