Scorers - Cove: Megginson (9) Inverness: Mackinnon (40) Bray (67)

Inverness Caledonian Thistle won their first match since going into administration as they defeated Cove Rangers in Aberdeen.

Cove Rangers took the lead after nine minutes with a strike from Mitch Megginson, who was denied doubling their advantage from the penalty spot as his spot-kick was saved from Musa Dibaga.

Adam Mackinnon levelled for Inverness before the break with a spectacular strike from the edge of the box with Keith Bray scoring the winner midway through the second half.

The win means Inverness are out of negative points, after being deducted 15 points for going into administration, as they are now on one point.

They are now 11 points behind Dumbarton in ninth who lost 2-0 against Kelty Hearts.

Inverness made one change to the team which drew 1-1 with Kelty Hearts last week.

Charlie Gilmour returned to the starting line-up and replaced Conall Ewan who is out injured with a knee injury.

The deadlock was broken after nine minutes when Dylan Lobban’s pass went through the heart of the Inverness defence.

Blair Yule crossed the ball along the face of goal to find Megginson who fired home from 12-yards out to give the Aberdonians the lead.

Cove were given the chance to double their advantage from the penalty spot seven minutes before half time when they were awarded a penalty.

Charlie Gilmour fouled Megginson in the box, but the striker was unable to find the net as goalkeeper Musa Dibaga parried his shot away from goal to keep the deficit at one.

Inverness made them pay instantly as they equalised a minute later. Mackinnon chested the ball before unleashing a thunderous shot from 20-yards straight into the top right corner to make it 1-1.

Mackinnon could have given Inverness the lead 10 minutes into the second half when he unleashed another thunderous strike from the edge of the box which crashed off the right post.

Inverness piled on the pressure and went close again when Jake Davidson’s cross found James Nolan in the box but he was unable to keep his shot under the crossbar.

But their perseverance did pay off as Inverness did go in front when Nolan played in Bray in the box who managed to fire into the bottom right corner to give them the lead.

Cove Rangers had chances for an equaliser, but Inverness held on for victory.
