INVERNESS Caledonian Thistle fear their first choice goalkeeper Jack Newman has suffered a bad injury as they await to find out on how long he may be out for.

The 22-year-old, who arrived at Inverness on loan from Dundee United this season, missed Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Montrose at the Caledonian Stadium.

Manager Duncan Ferguson confirmed Newman has sustained a knee injury and they are waiting to find out how long he could be out for.

Ferguson said: “It looks like the top of his knee.

“It could be his meniscus, he went back to his parent club and will get a scan on Monday. We will take it from there.

“We don’t know until we get a scan, but it doesn’t look good.

“We don’t want our number one goalkeeper getting injured, unfortunately it has happened.

“That happens in football, you get injuries. But with such a young and thin squad we can’t afford too many injuries.”

Musa Dibaga, who signed for Inverness Caledonian Thistle earlier this month, made his debut in goal for Caley Thistle in the 1-1 draw.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle also signed Clachnacuddin goalkeeper Martin Mackinnon on an emergency loan deal for one week.
