Inverness Caledonian Thistle battled to victory against a stubborn Forres Mechanics at Mosset Park.

Manny Duku scored the only goal of the game to continue head coach Billy Dodds's winning start to pre-season after victory at Clachnacuddin on Wednesday.

In a quiet first half, Caley Thistle were given the chance to take the lead on the stroke of half time when Ross Macpherson brought down Robbie Thompson with a lunging tackle.

Captain Sean Welsh saw his penalty saved by Stuart McKnight when he blocked the ball with a diving save to his right.

The rebound came back to Walsh who only fired a tame effort which was gathered comfortably by the goalkeeper to bring to an end a poor first half.

But Inverness took the lead on the hour mark when Forres conceded another penalty when McKnight brought down Harry Hennem in the box.

Duku made no mistake from the spot, firing into the left corner to give the visitors the lead.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle continue their pre-season campaign at Brora Rangers on Tuesday night.
