Early first half goals from Sean Welsh and Tom Walsh put Inverness in full of control as they made it three league wins out of three at the Caledonian Stadium.

The win made it six victories in-a-row for Inverness Caledonian Thistle in all competitions at home.

Inverness made one change from the team that beat Dunfermline Athletic as Sean Welsh came in to replace David Carson.

Inverness broke the deadlock after 15 minutes when Jordan White collected a cross from the right wing and teed up Welsh whose powerful low drive from 20 yards found the bottom right corner of the net.

Faissal El Bakhtaoui should have levelled a minute later for QOS when he only had the goalkeeper to beat but fired his shot wide of the post.

Inverness made them pay in the 19th minute when goalkeeper Robby McCrorie parried Shaun Rooney’s cross into the path of Walsh and he fired the rebound into the back of the net from 12 yards.

Walsh came close to putting the hosts 3-0 up before half time when the ball fell to him after the ball was cleared from a corner but his shot was well saved by McCrorie.

The goalkeeper came to QOS’ rescue again when he saved a free kick from Walsh from 25 yards which appeared to be heading to the top left corner after Lewis Kidd fouled Jordan White at the edge of the box.

Caley Thistle started the second half where they finished the first when Jamie McCart beat the Queen’s defence to Walsh’s corner and saw his header hit the crossbar.

White could have made it 3-0 in the closing stages when Walsh sent a ball into the box but he failed to connect from eight yards.
