Keatings keen to work with Caley Thistle boss Robertson again

James Keatings says he wants to get back to enjoying his football at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The 27-year-old striker was announced as having signed a two-year pre-contract agreement with ICT yesterday after being released by Hamilton.

He has struggled with fitness over the last couple of years, but Keatings can still boast three promotions from the Scottish Championship on his record.

One of those came at Hearts, where he worked with Caley Thistle boss John Robertson.

The two stayed in touch over the years, and Keatings says the chance to work with Robertson again was a big factor in his decision to sign.

“Obviously I’ve known him for a good few years now, and he was brilliant with me when I was at Hearts,” Keatings recalled.

“He used to give me a lot of encouragement.

“Being a striker himself, he was always in my ear after games, he was always speaking to me."
