Inverness Caley Thistle confirm they have signed two players on loan from Aberdeen until the end of the season





Inverness Caledonian Thistle have signed midfielder Alfie Stewart and striker Alfie Bavidge on loan from Premiership club Aberdeen until the end of the season.

Both players are set to be included in the squad for Saturday afternoon’s match against Dumbarton in League One.

Despite Inverness Caledonian Thistle still being in administration, the club are allowed to sign under-20 players.

Stewart (18) is an Aberdeen academy graduate and spent the second half of last season on loan at Scottish League 2 side Peterhead, playing 17 games and scoring once.

The midfielder was captain of the Aberdeen Under-18s side which won the Club Academy Scotland U18 league last season.

Bavidge (18) has also come through the ranks at Pittodrie and got his first loan move last season at Scottish League 1 side Kelty Hearts, where he scored 9 goals across 26 games.

For the first half of the current season, Alfie has been on loan with Ayr United. In December, he scored twice against Falkirk in Ayr’s 5-2 win.

The striker has been capped for Scotland at Under 16s, Under 17s and Under 19s level.

Bavidge’s father Martin is a well-known face at the Caledonian Stadium, having played over 120 games for the club.

Head Coach Scott Kellacher said: “I’m absolutely delighted the get the two boys in. Both who have been involved in and around Aberdeen’s first team and have enjoyed successful loan spells last season.”

“It is no secret we’ve had some injury issues recently, so we’re delighted to bolster the squad ahead of a big game against Dumbarton.”

Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Dumbarton is scheduled to go ahead at 3pm on Saturday.

Snow covers which protected the pitch from sub-zero temperatures were lifted on Saturday morning with the help of 50 volunteers.

All Highland League matches have been called off this weekend after all grounds failed pitch inspections on Friday night and Saturday morning.
