Inverness Caledonian Thistle say ‘clerical error’ led to former chairman incorrectly named director
Inverness Caledonian Thistle have confirmed a “clerical error” led to former chairman Alan Savage being incorrectly named as a director at the club.
Yesterday morning, it was announced on the Inverness Thistle and Caledonian FC Limited accounts on Companies House that Savage had been appointed as a director.
However, later last night, it was announced on Companies House that Savage’s appointment as a director had been terminated at the club.
The announcement led to confusion with supporters if Savage was still in charge at the club.
However, Savage, who was chairman of Inverness Caledonian Thistle between 2006 and 2008, remains in charge at the club, after being appointed by the board of directors to put the League One outfit on a firm financial footing.
A spokesman for Inverness Caledonian Thistle confirmed that Savage had not been appointed as a director at the club, saying a clerical error resulted in the mistake.
The club spokesman said: “There was a clerical error which led to the mistake on Companies House last night.
“There was an assumption that he is now a director at the club which is not correct and the mistake was made digitally.”
