Inverness Caledonian Thistle have received over £20,000 payments during administration period.

Accrington Stanley paid the Scottish League One club £20,073 while it has been in administration since October, in respect of a player transfer fee due as a result of the solidarity payments in place for the development of youth players.

The figure was revealed in the BDO Joint Administrator’s Report which was published on the Companies House website.

It has not been revealed in the BDO report or by Inverness Caledonian Thistle who the payments are in relation to.

But it is believed the player in question is central midfielder Ben Woods who played for Inverness in the second half of the 2022/23 Scottish Championship campaign.

Woods, who came through the Manchester United youth academy, signed for Inverness Caledonian Thistle in January 2023.

He made seven appearances for Inverness during his time at the club, making his debut in a 0-0 draw against Queen’s Park.

He was also an unused substitute in the 2023 Scottish Cup final when Inverness Caledonian Thistle lost 3-1 to Celtic.

Woods signed for Accrington Stanley in September 2023 and in January signed a new two-and-a-half year deal.

Accrington Stanley finished in 21st place, eight points above the relegation zone.

The BDO report also confirmed it has not received any other solidarity payments for former players at the club.

Meanwhile Inverness Caledonian Thistle are hoping they are able to come out of administration next week when a vote on a Company Voluntary Agreement is taking place.

Inverness businessman Alan Savage has been named as the preferred bidder to take over the club after having his £800,000 bid accepted for the club.

He says his deal is dependent on certain conditions being met. This includes 100 per cent of the voting shares to be transferred to his purchasing vehicle; all loan creditors to be written off; and an agreement with Inverness Caledonian Thistle Property Company to purchase land around the stadium.

The vote of the CVA is set to take place on Thursday, May 22 which if successful, should see the club come out of administration.
