Inverness Caley Thistle goalkeeper Jack Newman called up to Scotland under-21s for Euros qualifiers against Belgium and Kazakhstan
Inverness Caledonian Thistle goalkeeper Jack Newman has been called up to the Scotland under-21 squad.
The shot-stopper, on loan from Dundee United, has been named in Scot Gemmill’s squad for the Under-21 Euros qualifiers against Belgium on October 11 and Kazakhstan on October 15.
He could feature alongside the likes of Connor Barron and Josh Doig, as well as former Caley Jags loanee Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen.
Scotland currently sit second in Group B as the Under-21s aim to qualify for next summer's UEFA EURO 2025 Finals in Slovakia.
Newman, who has represented Scotland at every age group from under-15s onwards, played in all four of Caley Thistle’s League Cup group games as well as their opening two League One fixtures, keeping two clean sheets.
However, injury took him out of the starting 11, and after returning to fitness he is yet to displace Musa Dibaga who has impressed in his absence.
