MANAGER Duncan Ferguson says they will not be proceeding with any further transfer business due to previous takeover talks at Caley Thistle being suspended.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle confirmed on Tuesday that the proposed takeover by Seventy7 Ventures has been put on hold.

Alan Savage has been appointed by the club’s board of directors to put Inverness Caledonian Thistle in a firm financial position.

As a result, Ferguson confirmed that any interest in bringing further players into the squad before the end of the transfer window is finished.

He said that he will proceed into at least the first half of the campaign with the players that are already at the club.

He said: “I don’t think there will be any change with transfers. We are not going to go forward with what we had lined up.

“The club are going through the process of looking through finances forensically, for me we have got what we have got, and we go in with the squad that we have got.”

It has also been confirmed that Charlie Christie has been appointed acting chief executive officer, replacing Scot Gardiner who left the club on Monday.

As Inverness prepare for the second league match at home to Montrose on Saturday, Ferguson hopes to see a big crowd come to support them.

He said: “We want the fans through the door and want the players over the line. Every club needs their fans to get behind the team. Hopefully we will get a positive result for them.”

Inverness could be without goalkeeper Jack Newman who has been struggling with injury this week.

If he fails to pass a fitness test, new signing Musa Dibaga could be given the gloves and make his debut for the club.

Danny Devine is also a doubt for Saturday’s match as he is struggling with a groin injury.
