REPORTS suggest Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s League One rivals Dumbarton are set to go into administration tomorrow and will drop to the bottom of the table.

The Sun are reporting that Dumbarton could declare administration on Tuesday as it also has financial troubles.

The Sun is reporting tonight that Dumbarton’s hopes of a financial injection of money at the club today, which would have staved off the threat of administration have failed.

If correct, Dumbarton will be deducted 15 points and drop from eighth place to the bottom of the table on zero points.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle would then move up the table to ninth place and out of the automatic relegation spot.

They would be four points clear of Dumbarton, if the Sons declare administration.

Dumbarton have responded to the claims on its social media channels saying they will be releasing a statement on Tuesday.

They wrote: “We want to acknowledge the reports shared on varying media outlets tonight and understand it’s not the news that people wanted.

“A statement will follow tomorrow.”

Inverness Caledonian Thistle declared administration on October 22 after it failed to find a buyer to take over the club with it reported having debts of around £3 million.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle played at Dumbarton in their first game since declaring administration last month when they lost 3-1 on October 26.

But since then they are on an undefeated run of three matches picking up seven out of nine points.

It included a 1-1 draw against Kelty Hearts a 2-1 win in Aberdeen against Cove Rangers, and a 1-0 win against Alloa Athletic at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday.
