Inverness Caledonian Thistle started their pre-season campaign in rampant style as they thrashed Clachnacuddin in Merkinch.

Inverness broke the deadlock after 13 minutes when Aaron Doran ran on to a long ball before setting up Billy Mckay in the box to fire home from 10 yards out.

They doubled their advantage five minutes later when Mckay set up new signing Nathan Shaw to fire home from the six yard line.

Mckay grabbed his second after the half hour mark when he ran on to a long ball from Harry Hennem and fired past Martin Mackinnon.

Cameron Harper made it 4–0 60 seconds later when he connected with a cross from Scott Allardice on the right wing.

Robbie Thompson and Aaron Doran scored before half time to put them 6–0 up at the break.

Inverness were awarded a penalty two minutes into the second half which was converted by Austin Samuels.

Ethan Cairns made it eight when he pounced on a defensive mistake before firing into the net.

Steven Boyd made it nine after the referee allowed play to go on after Mackinnon fouled Samuels in the box and the ball fell kindly for the forward to shoot into the net.

Roddy MacGregor made it 10 with a close range effort with 13 minutes remaining in the game.

Inverness head to Brora Rangers for their second pre-season friendly on Saturday.
