The 24-year-old has been named for the first time in the 24-man squad for their matches against Kenya and Ivory Coast.

Gambia will face Kenya on Thursday, March 20 before taking on Ivory Coast on Monday, March 24. Both matches will be played in Abijdan in Ivory Coast.

Dibaga, who was born in Zaragoza in Spain qualifies to play for Gambia through his family.

The World Cup qualifiers will mean Dibaga will miss Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s match against Alloa Athletic on Saturday, March 22.

Dibaga is one of three goalkeepers to be selected in the squad along with Ebrima Jarju who plays for Paide Linnameeskond in Estonia and Sheikh Bibi who plays for Virtus Verona in Italy’s Serie C.

Gambia are in Group F of their African World Cup Qualifying section and are in fifth place of the six-team group having won one and lost three of their first four matches.

Ivory Coast lead the group on 10 points with Gabon in second on nine, Burundi third on seven, Kenya fourth with five points with Gambia fifth with three points and Seychelles bottom with zero points.

Dibaga signed for Inverness Caledonian Thistle in August after only previously playing in non-league football with Bo’ness United and Whitehill Welfare.

He has made a big impression at Inverness, becoming a fan’s favourite and has also saved three penalties this season, including in the 4-1 win against Stenhousemuir on Tuesday night.

He has made 28 appearances for the club this season, with 11 clean sheets.

Speaking to the Inverness Courier earlier this week, Dibaga, who is Muslim, spoke about how he is balancing observing Ramadan and not eating or drinking during daylight, with being a professional footballer.
