Inverness Caledonian Thistle forward Shane Sutherland charged with notice of complaint from Scottish Football Association over gambling allegations

Inverness Caledonian Thistle forward Shane Sutherland has been given a notice of complaint from the Scottish Football Association over allegations of gambling on football games.

The 31-year-old is one of 14 players who have been handed a citation relating to alleged offences to have taken place between July 2011 and June 2019.

The charges include no person under the jurisdiction of the Scottish FA shall gamble on football matches.

Sutherland rejoined Inverness Caledonian Thistle in 2020 signing from Elgin City, but previously played for Inverness between 2010 and 2013.

The hearing will take place on Friday, February 11.

Five of the 14 players also receiving a notice of complaint are from League Two club Elgin City who include Matthew Cooper, Conor O'Keefe, Darryl McHardy, Thomas McHale and Aiden Sopel.

Other players to receive a notice of complaint include Ashley Ballam (Strathspey Thistle) Bryan Gilfillian (Threave Rovers) Dougie Imrie (Greenock Morton) Gavin Swankie (Arbroath) Gordon Young (Cove Rangers) James McGowan (Albion Rovers) Rabin Omar (Stirling Albion) Robert Scott (Deveronvale).
