Caley Thistle footballers deliver Christmas cheer with festive hampers in Inverness





Footballers and staff from Inverness Caledonian Thistle were out spreading some festive cheer as they delivered gifts to people in Inverness on Friday.

The Inverness Caledonian Thistle Community Development Trust organised a festive hamper delivery to people across the city.

The initiative delivered free Christmas hampers to the doorsteps of those who need it most during the festive season.

Festive hampers were donated to 75 people who were nominated by charities and members of the public.

The Inverness Caledonian Thistle Supporters Trust is worked with ICT Community Development Trust to fill hampers to donate to the community.

Community Trust manager Craig Masterton said they have spent Friday delivering hampers and hopes it will bring Christmas cheer to those who received them.

He said: “We have been delivering hampers to doorsteps of about 75 different people identified by the public and charities to receive a festive hamper.

“We hope that it will pick up their spirits and give them some nice bits and pieces during the festive period.”

In addition to delivering festive hampers across Inverness on Friday, the Inverness Caledonian Thistle Community Development Trust have also organised Christmas lunches for the elderly in the community.

A total of 120 people attended two festive lunches which were organised, with 85 people attending the first meal and 35 people attending the second meal.

In addition, the Community Development Trust also held a Christmas party at the Caledonian Stadium for over 100 primary school pupils earlier this week.
