FOOTBALL fans are being asked to give donations to help fill Christmas hampers for people less fortunate this festive season.

The Inverness Caledonian Thistle Supporters Trust is working with ICT Community Development Trust to collect items to fill hampers to donate to the community.

The Community Development Trust holds free Christmas Lunches at the Stadium for elderly fans and delivers hampers to vulnerable and deserving fans in the lead up to Christmas.

To ensure that the Community Development Trust are able to supply as many hampers as possible, a drop off point for donation will be held at Bar 94 at the Caledonian Stadium before Saturday’s game against Alloa Athletic.

The bar is open from 12 noon and donations can be dropped off until 2.30 pm.

Items being asked for include long life foods, festive treats and warm clothing with financial donations also welcome.

The Supporters Trust will be donating £250 of hamper contents to the Community Development Trust.

A spokesman for the Supporters Trust said: “We invite everyone attending Saturday’s match to bring along donations that will enable the Community Development Trust to maximise the number of vulnerable and elderly fans who will be able to benefit from their valuable activities in the lead up to Christmas.

“With Scott Kellacher and the players securing our first away win of the season last weekend there is no better time to come along and support the team as they look to recover the points deduction, and at the same time show your support to the tremendous work carried out by the Community Development Trust.”
