Inverness Caledonian Thistle have reported it has received complaints regarding fans at matches away from home.

Interim chairman Scott Young reported that Caley Thistle have received reports from rival clubs in League One over the behaviour of a minority of their fans at matches during the 2024/25 campaign.

He said as a result, Caley Thistle are taking the complaints it has received from other clubs ‘incredibly seriously.’

He says that the club have asked away fans to help tackle the problem of the behaviour of a minority of fans who travel to matches to watch Caley Thistle.

Young indicated that they have received more than one complaint from clubs in League One this season, confirming they have received claims from a ‘few incidents.’

However, he would not identify where the alleged incidents are said to have taken place or which clubs has issued the complaints to Inverness.

Young has said that Inverness Caledonian Thistle are looking to tackle the problem in the hope of eradicating the issue.

He confirmed that the club have spoken to fans who travel to matches on supporters buses about the complaints it has received this season.

He said it was a small minority of fans which have been accused of the alleged incidents,

But he is asking any supporters who witness such behaviour to help solve the problem with self policing so that the club does not face any repercussions in the future.

Young said: “We have the best away support in the league, but we have had a few incidents this season of unsociable behaviour of potential racial and homophobic abuse which we take incredibly seriously.

“There is self policing going on, we have the biggest support and we want to be welcomed at these grounds.

“We have had a meeting with young boys who are on the supporters bus who are behaved well.

“The problems are caused by some who go to the away grounds.

“Self policing is the easiest way to solve the problem so we don’t get calls from clubs about fans.

“We want our fans to behave themselves both home and away.”

Young raised the issue at the Inverness Caledonian Thistle Supporters Trust meeting at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday.

The meeting took place before Caley Thistle’s 1-1 draw with Montrose which has left them in the relegation zone in ninth place.

It was not confirmed if police have been called as a result of any incidents or if any fans have been charged.

There were no reports of any anti-social behaviour at the Caledonian Stadium involving Inverness fans this season.

Caley Thistle’s next match is travelling to face bottom of the table Dumbarton on Saturday.
