Inverness Caley Thistle determined to get win at Arbroath that could get them out of drop zone
Inverness Caledonian Thistle head coach Scott Kellacher says the opportunity of getting out of the relegation zone tomorrow is the all the incentive the team needs to go for victory at Arbroath.
Inverness are in ninth place in League One, but only two points off Annan Athletic in eighth place. A win for Inverness at Gayfield tomorrow along with Annan failing to beat Dumbarton or Montrose losing to Alloa Athletic will take them out of the bottom two.
Kellacher says it has been a great effort for his team to get into this position with 13 games remaining after receiving a 15 point deduction for going into administration in October.
Inverness have won four of their last five matches, including beating Queen of the South 1-0 last weekend.
Now he wants his team to get the win which could potentially lift them out of the bottom two tomorrow.
He said: "I'm excited and looking forward to it, as I ham for every game.
"I'm working with players who want to learn and they're enthusiastic to do well.
"The boys have been fantastic. We know how tough it will be. Any team can beat anyone on any given week.
"You want to just come in and win games of football.
"There's also a way you try and go about it and that's the position we're in.
"We want to win every game but try to play attacking football. Scoring goals is how we'll win these games.
"What this group of players have done to get us to where we are now has been incredible.
"There might be a set-back here or there between now and the end of the season. We understand that.
"We've lost one of our last five games (losing to Queen of the South), but that kicked us on again. There's a good resilience about them
"If we lose again, they want to get back to form.”
Arbroath have lost their two previous league matches against Alloa Athletic and Cove Rangers and have dropped to third place in the table.
Kellacher is still expecting a tough clash on Saturday.
"We've done reasonably well away from home, while we're also trying to make sure our home record is also good.
"No matter what league we've been in, and no matter what team goes there, playing Arbroath at Gayfield has proved to be a hard place over the years to get a result.
"We're confident, as we are in every game, and I think it's more about what we do.”
