Inverness Caledonian Thistle looking at building concert stage behind ground to raise money for club after it has exited administration

It is one of a number of ideas that the club will be looking at to raise revenue after its future was guaranteed yesterday afternoon after creditors and members of the club agreed to an Company Voluntary Arrangement which will see Inverness move out of administration.

Savage says creating a ‘mini Ironworks’ at the ground is one of the ideas that he has to raise money at the club as it looks to become a more sustainable operation.

He said: “We are looking to put a mini ironworks at the back of the North Stand.

“The idea is to put a stage into the back of the stand and put a roof over it.

“We have catering and can serve drinks and there is no reason why we can’t do things during the summer and raise revenue. But we need to get people here to see what we are trying to do.”

At the press conference, Savage said the club have other ideas to help raise revenue which include opening a cafeteria, becoming a start point for the North Coast 500 and operating a park and ride scheme to Inverness Castle.

The Caledonian Stadium has played host to concerts in the past, most recently in 2022 when Andrea Borcelli and Duran Duran performed at the venue. However, the firm which organised the events Inverness Caledonian Thistle Concert Company, went into liquidation in 2022.

Savage has also confirmed Inverness Caledonian Thistle have agreed a three-year deal stadium name sponsorship deal with Sarens PSG to rename the Caledonian Stadium.

Savage has suggested previously about the possibility of Inverness Caledonian Thistle moving to a new ground elsewhere in the city. But he says he is proceeding with his plans for the club on the basis they will be remaining at their current home. However, he said improvements do need to be made at the ground.

“One of the things we need to do is change to LED’s on the floodlights.

“Some sort of transformer currently costs us £4000 a month and we have to switch it on four hours before they play.

“The stadium will be better shared, we only really use it once a fortnight, we are looking to increase that. I will treat the stadium as we are never moving, so it will be improved. It doesn’t need a lot but needs things that haven’t been done for years. We look to put together things for every day of the week. We are staying here and people will be treated properly.
