Inverness Caley Thistle squad update: 11 players sign new contracts, four remain in discussions to stay in Highland capital

Inverness Caledonian Thistle have confirmed that 11 players have agreed new contracts to remain at the club for at least one more season.

In terms of the senior squad, only Adam Mackinnon was already committed to the Highland capital club for the 2025/26 campaign.

However, eight players have signed new one-year contracts, and three more have put pen-to-paper on two-year deals.

Adam Mackinnon was the only senior player already under contract for next season at Inverness.

The likes of Billy Mckay, Matthew Strachan and Robbie Thompson will continue playing in Inverness colours for at least one more season.

Danny Devine, Luis Longstaff and Calum Macleod have all committed for two more season.

Four players remain in discussions over their futures – Charlie Gilmour, Musa Dibaga, Paul Allan and Remi Savage – while three academy products have signed their first professional contracts with the club.

That means only a single player, Ethan Cairns, has been confirmed to be leaving the club this summer.

Cairns had been with the Caley Jags since he was nine years old, and turned professional in 2021. In total, he made 22 appearances for the Caley Thistle first team, scoring one goal.

A statement by ICT reads: “The club are pleased to confirm 11 players in total have agreed new contracts and three players from the ICTFC Academy have agreed their first professional contracts.

“A full statement regarding the academy players who have agreed their first professional contracts with the club will be released in due course.

“The club can also confirm that striker Ethan Cairns will be released upon expiry of his current contract.

“Ethan had been with the club since he was nine years old and signed for the club full-time in 2021. In total Ethan made 22 appearances for ICTFC and scored once.

“Everyone at ICTFC would like to thank Ethan for his contributions while at the club and wish him the very best in the future.

“Six loan players have returned to their parent clubs: Alfie Bavidge, Ben Brannan, Keith Bray, Connall Ewan, James Nolan and Alfie Stewart. We'd like to thank all the players for their contributions at Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC and we wish them the very best in the future.

“The club would also like to place on record our thanks to Aberdeen FC, Dunfermline Athletic FC, Kilmarnock FC, Manchester United FC and Ross County FC for their assistance with loan players in 2024/25.”
