Inverness Caledonian Thistle are looking to go on the run in a bid to chase down Dundee United for the Championship title.

Manager John Robertson is challenging his players to keep their winning form going in December to stay in touch with the league leaders who are seven points in front.

Ayr United travel to the Caledonian Stadium tomorrow with Inverness playing three of their next four matches at home.

A trip to Partick Thistle follows before visits from Dunfermline and Arbroath round off December.

Inverness are on a two-game winning streak in the Championship after victories against Dundee and Alloa Athletic.

But Robertson says they have to make their winning run go longer if they want to be in contention for winning the league and automatic promotion at the end of the season.

“Ayr have put five straight wins together,” he said.

“Dundee United have put five straight wins together. Dunfermline have won four out of five and you can see the difference that makes in the league.

“If we can stick three, four five wins together, then it will take us to a position in the league to put pressure on the team above us to finish the best we can.”
