Pots and seedings revealed as Inverness Caley Thistle and Ross County await 2024/25 League Cup draw
Ross County and Inverness Caledonian Thistle now know which pots they are in for the 2024/25 Premier Sports Cup group stage draw.
Teams are divided up based on their final league position in the 2023/24 campaign, and for the third year in-a-row there is no regionalisation in the lower pots.
As well as the 37 SPFL teams who did not qualify for European competition next year, Lowland League champions East Kilbride will play in the competition, as will Highland League champions and runners-up Buckie Thistle and Brechin City respectively.
All eight group winners will progress to the second round, where they will be joined by the three best runners up and Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Kilmarnock and St Mirren.
This season there is an increased prize pot for clubs involved too. The overall winners will receive £400,000, while each club will receive at least £30,000 as the total prize money has increased by 14 per cent to £3.5 million.
