Caberfeidh tackle Newtonmore test in historic Camanachd Cup bid

Caberfeidh bid to end an 80-year wait for a place in the Camanachd Cup final when they face Newtonmore in tomorrow’s semi final at Bught Park in Inverness.

The Cabers last appeared in the final in 1939 when they defeated Kyles Athletic 2–1 winning the trophy for the second time.

It is also the first time Caberfeidh have reached the semi final of the competition since 1963.

Chairman Iain MacLean said they were relishing the chance of making the final.

“It certainly has been a long time coming but hopefully the wait will be worthwhile.

“Although league safety is our number one aim for the season this is a brilliant opportunity and there is a real buzz around the club at the moment."
