Beauly’s Premiership ambitions have been boosted by the return of two former players from Caberfeidh.

Ryan MacKay and and Robbie Brindle both left their boyhood club to sample Premiership shinty at Caberfeidh but have now re-signed for the Braeview outfit.

MacKay spent three seasons at Castle Leod while Brindle played in the 2019 season.

Also moving to Beauly is Caberfeidh’s utility player Martin MacDonald.

All three played in last Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Newtonmore.

Meanwhile the pre-season activity ramps up with most of the local clubs taking part in challenge matches.

Lovat and Strathglass go head to head in Cannich while their reserve sides face off at Balgate.

Inverness and Glenurquhart are also involved in a double header with the senior sides meeting at the Bught. Beauly meanwhile are on their travels as they head down the Great Glen to meet Glengarry at Craigard Park.

Caberfeidh are due to face Newtonmore at Castle Leod but the match will be subject to a late pitch inspection with Kincraig’s pitch on stand-by if Castle Leod is unplayable.
