Caley Thistle's MacGregor and Harper to start in Challenge Cup against Morton

Roddy MacGregor will win a first senior start for Caley Thistle tomorrow – and manager John Robertson insists the talented youngster has earned it.

The Inverness coaching staff, with Scott Kellacher and Barry Wilson taking charge in the technical area, will make up to eight changes for the Challenge Cup third round clash with Morton.

Robertson confirmed that MacGregor and full back Cameron Harper would make up two of the starting 11.

A week ago, the Greenock side lost 5-0 at Caledonian Stadium in the league, but will face a very different host line-up.

MacGregor’s big break has been in the pipeline for some time, with the 17-year-old youth academy graduate clocking up a dozen substitute appearances this season and last.

“The wee man’s been knocking on the door and we’ve seen the impact he makes at times coming off the bench,” he said.
