During Wimbledon fortnight and the summer holidays, the club are holding a series of events hoping more people will think the sport is ace.

Last Friday, the club held a Wimbledon fun session where 25 school pupils enjoyed playing games of tennis as well as strawberries and cream.

The club reformed nine months ago and secretary and tennis co-ordinator Lizzy Burke says its membership has grown significantly during that period.

“We reformed Bellfield Park Tennis Club in November,” she said.
