Life-changing offer helped Houston pick Bellator over other companies

Former world champion Ross Houston says that signing with Bellator is life-changing for him.

The ex-Cage Warriors fighter had been in negotiations with several of the biggest mixed martial-arts companies in the world, but eventually plumped for Bellator where he hopes to debut this summer.

A potential fast rise through the ranks played a major role in Houston’s decision, but the finances on offer were not bad either.

“Bellator are renowned for having a stacked welterweight division,” Houston said.

“One of the agreements is that they’re going to be putting me on the big shows. We’re not 100 per cent confirmed with anything yet, but we’re looking to get stateside to fight big names.

“There are a few big names I have been told, but I can’t announce them just yet. It’s a name that when I beat them, it will really put me up there."
