The result put the Beauly driver into 12th place in the Championship on 44 points.

He also sits in third place in the Rookie Cup on 185 points.

Stewart says he has been happy with how he has performed so far during races in this season competition.

He wants to continue his good form behind the wheel into the remainder of the races this season and achieve a respectable final position.

“I’m happy with our qualifying result.” said Stewart after the race.

“I know it could have been better as I made a slight mistake into turn one which cost me three tenths and a top five finish.

“But we were in a good position for the races.

“It feels good to get the Rookie win and stand on the top step of the podium.

“It was almost the top step overall.

“But to be where I am at this stage of the game, only day 27 in the car, I’m happy with that.

“It’s hard to take when you’re leading a race and lose it all on the final few laps.

“But we will channel this energy towards Knockhill and see what we can do.”

Stewart is now setting his focus on putting his best foot forward at his home circuit of Knockhill, for rounds 16, 17, and 18 of the season.

The races for those three rounds will be taking place on Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31.
