Beauly almost cause upset in MacTavish Cup

Beauly came close to causing a shock as they forced Premiership side Lochaber to come from behind to win 2-1 in the MacTavish Cup first round. Robbie Brindle gave Beauly a 28th minute lead which Shaun Nicolson erased five minutes later.

Former Newtonmore striker John MacKenzie fired what proved to be the winner in the 40th minute.

There were no shocks in the MacTavish Cup first round with all four ties going the way of the Premiership teams.
