The opening tournament was the Open Fours and the title went to an Innes Bar C side calling themselves #TC and represented by Sandy Morrison, George Main, Derek Maclean and Alec Morrison. In the final they defeated Jackos comprising Phil Keen, Jamie Curry, Rikki Fraser and Jim McNair.

In defeating the Nairn side the champions became the first foursome to successfully defend the title with the same complete team.

The following night the Portland Open Triples took place and was won by Andy Boulton, Neil MacDougall and Nicky Denoon who defeated Sandy Morrison, Alec Morrison and George Main in the final, just pipping them to the chance of adding the triples to their fours crown from the previous night.

Ayrshire’s Andy Boulton became the third player to successfully defend his Portland Open Singles title when he defeated George Main. Andy follows in the footsteps of Andy Fordham and Gary Anderson and was presented with £2000 and the Bryan Whyte Memorial Trophy.

The Ladies Singles champion is Linda Simon who previously played in both the Ross-shire and Inverness ladies leagues. In the final she defeated Highland player Mandy Anderson from Forres, the defending champion and the first winner of the title in 2014.

The Portland Open doubles title went to Euan Callander from Angus, who teamed up with Grampian’s Brian Woods to defeat Jackos pair Kenny Maclean and Phil Keen in the final.

Just missing out on defending their title were last year’s champions Sandy Morrison and Alec Morrison who reached the semi-finals along with Moray pair Sean Adams and Jim Wood.

Tonight the City Taxis Inverness Summer Darts League Doubles championship takes place in the Innes Bar with an 8pm registration time.
