Inverness Caledonian Thistle chief executive Charlie Christie says parties have shown significant interest in taking over club
INTERIM chief executive Charlie Christie says at least three interested parties have shown significant interest in taking over Inverness Caledonian Thistle and taking the club out of administration.
However, there is still no indication when a deal is expected to be agreed for new owners to take over the club which has been in administration since almost four months.
But he says that he is optimistic that things are moving in the right direction and that a positive outcome will happen.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle have been in administration since October 22 with the club owing debts to creditors worth £3.8 million.
Christie said that he spoke to administrators BDO and consultant Alan Savage yesterday where he has received an update talks.
He said several interested parties have requested in-depth information about the club and is hopeful talks are moving positively.
Christie said: “There are three or four interested parties with significant interest and we have answered an in depth questionnaire for a couple of them.
They have been asking questions such as where do the first team train, what is their training schedules, how many players in the academy, what are things like at the stadium.
“That is in depth questions which I think looks good and not from another charlatan.
“It is looking promising and I would like to see us come out of administration sooner rather than later.
“I am more optimistic with the conversations we had this week. But as seen with what has happened at English clubs, these things can go to the wire and then fall flat on their face.”
Christie says despite the club plunging into administration in October, there is a growing feel good factor at the club.
Despite a 15-point deduction, Inverness are only two points off escaping the relegation zone as they prepare to head to Arbroath on Saturday.
Christie believes if Inverness can escape administration, there is no reason why they should not look at becoming a top flight club in the future.
The increased positivity at the club is noticeable. It is noticeable in the players and the way we are playing and little things like the supporters bar.
“The feel about the place compared to the last couple of years is different. It would be great to get a buyer to show them around the Highlands, Inverness and the club.
“I have no doubt that Caley Thistle can be a Premiership team quite quickly if we can get our house in order and get a buyer.
