Despite the January transfer window now being closed, football clubs are still able to make loan deals before the end of the month.

Caley Thistle are restricted in terms of who they are able to sign on loan due to being in administration since October.

However, the club are still allowed to bring in loan players as long as they are under the age of 20.

Last month, they made two loan signings from Aberdeen, with midfielder Alfie Stewart and striker Alfie Bavidge both making an impact in the first team.

Speaking at Thursday’s press conference, Mckay says the club are not ruling out making further loan signings before the end of the month.

But he says any new additions would have to be the right fit for the squad.

He said: “We have two weeks if we are going to do anything.

“They have to be under-20 so we need to make sure that they are the right ones if we are going to bring them in.”

Meanwhile, Caley Thistle will look to bounce back from their 3-0 defeat against Arbroath last weekend when they take on top of the table Stenhousemuir at the Caledonian Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

The match is set to kick-off at 2pm due to the Inverness Caledonian Thistle 30th anniversary dinner which takes place later that night.

Inverness fell five points from safety after their defeat last weekend as they remain on 22 points with Montrose and Annan Athletic both on 27.

Mckay says the team must remain fully focussed on getting out of the bottom two. But he says the team have done well this season to give them a chance of doing that.

He said: “You can’t underestimate how big an achievement it would be.

“You look at the state the club was in during the 15 point deduction and what a hard task it was going to be.

“Everyone says Dumbarton, but that doesn’t mean you don’t go down, we are still second bottom and facing a play-off.

“We have a lot of work to do to get out of it. We are going to try our best to do it. It shows how important every week is. At one point it looked like we were going out of the bottom two and now we are five points away. There is going to be a lot of that until the end of the season. But we have to focus on ourselves and if we do that we should be alright.”
