The club captain, who will take over as manager next season, is aiming to win the North Super League and get the team promoted into the Highland League.

Positive talks have taken place between the Highland League, North Caledonian League and the Scottish Junior Football Association North Region to implement a tier six division allowing promotion and relegation from the Highland League next season.

Mason says Nairn St Ninian would embrace the opportunity of playing at a higher level if promotion to the Highland League is an option.

“If a club wins the division, has the infrastructure and backing of the board, they should be more than willing to strive towards that.

"I will be doing everything I can on the football side of things to get the team up.

“I am positive the board would back me off the field as well.”
