Clachnacuddin hit St Duthus for six in under-18 Highlands and Islands League

The Highland League under-18 North section resumed its fixtures following the festive break, with big wins for title chasers Alness United and Clachnacuddin.

At Bught Park, Clachnacuddin proved too good for St Duthus as they romped to a 6–1 victory at Bught Park.

The Inverness side took a 3–0 first half lead with goals from Lewis Munro and Ross Lawrence who scored a double.

Johnie Beattie offered Saints a chance of a fightback with an early second half strike.

But a late flurry of goals killed the game off as a contest when Clach bagged another three, a second for Munro and one apiece from Cruz Hastings and Adam Boa to secure a comfortbale victory for the Lilywhites.

Alness kept their maximum points record intact with an impressive 5–0 win against Ullapool at Inverness Royal Academy.

After a goalless first half, the Wester Ross side eventually succumbed to an onslaught, with a Struan Coli hat-trick the highlight of the Alness barrage.

Arran Thain and Evan Hamilton netted the other goals to round off a dominant second half for United.

Alness United are six points clear at the top of the league with Clachnacuddin in second place who have a game in hand.

It was honours even between Nairn County and Buckie Thistle in Nairn.

Dean Calderwood put County 1–0 up at the break, but a second half fightback saw their Moray visitors score twice to take control of the game.

County showed great resilience though and after a Lachlan Innes shot was saved, Calderwood fired in the rebound to level the scores, as it finished 2-2.

In the only other match, Keith beat Rothes 4-2.

The scheduled meeting between Wick Academy and Forres Mechanics was postponed due to Covid complications.
