Gavin Hampton (20) had been prohibited from being in the company of any child under the age of 16.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that Hampton, of the city’s Telford Street, had been made the subject of a Risk of Committing Sexual Harm order on October 17, 2016.

This barred him from being in the company of young children for a period of five years.

But fiscal depute Ross Carvel told Sheriff Margaret Neilson previously that Hampton had been in a house in the city on April 29 last year when a 16-month-old child was also present.

Hampton previously admitted breaching the order and sentence on him had been deferred for a background report.

Defence solicitor Shahid Latif said that Hampton had gone to the property to watch a game of football and the infant had been upstairs in a bedroom at the time.
