Inverness Town House is currently being inspected for ‘settlement cracks’.

Workers were present at the historic city centre site yesterday and today.

Settlement cracks in old buildings are usually caused by different parts of the foundation moving at different rates and then settling into a new position

A Highland Council spokesperson said: “An inspection of what is believed to be ‘settlement cracks’ on the exterior stonework of the Town House is being carried out today.

“The inspection results will be reviewed and any repairs required identified for action.”
