Hollywood Bowl starts work on new £3.1m centre in Inverness
Work is under way on a new 10-pin bowling alley for Inverness with an opening date announced.
Hollywood Bowl is investing £3.1 million in the project at Inverness Shopping Park.
It is in the premises previously used by Sports Direct/Everlast as a gym and swimming pool. The former retail sports shop upstairs has already been converted into the new Innoflate attraction - an indoor £750,000 inflatables theme park which opened in October.

The new development isn’t without controversy. There were protests against the closure of the gym and concerns were raised by existing bowling alley Rollerbowl, which has operated in Inverness for some 35 years.
The new £3.1 million Hollywood Bowl is designed to be a family entertainment centre which is set to open in March 2025.
It will feature 22 lanes including 4 “VIP lanes”, state-of-the-art amusements and an American style bar and diner.
There will be 30 new jobs created.
Steven Bremner, regional manager at Hollywood Bowl Inverness, said: “Inverness is sure to be bowled over as we start work on what is set to be a fantastic new family entertainment centre which will bring modern LA bowling entertainment to life next spring.
“Hollywood Bowl has built a strong reputation for delivering affordable family experiences across the UK, and we look forward to welcoming people of all ages and abilities from the city to enjoy and make memories in our state-of-the-art bowling facility.”
